Middletown Officer Tests Positive for COVID-19

March 21 2020

Middletown Township had a police officer test positive for COVID-19 on Friday, March 20.  He is doing well and is resting and recovering in isolation at home, and is following the Bucks County Health Department’s instructions.  It is unknown at this time how he was infected.  Police Chief Joseph Bartorilla and his team identified the officers and staff who had recent close, prolonged contact with the officer.  These individuals will be tested and must have a negative test result and medical clearance before being allowed to return to work.  This will ensure the minimization of spread to other staff and the community.  Middletown Township is working closely with the Bucks County Health Department, the lead agency in this matter.
