The Board of Supervisors adopted the Fire Services Strategic Plan on Monday, May 16, 2022. Middletown Township re-engaged Dynamix Consulting Group to assist in the development of a Fire Services Strategic Plan that will help improve the community's fire services.

The Middletown Township Board of Supervisors held a Strategic Planning Session on April 9, 2022 for Fire Services with volunteer firefighter companies: Langhorne-Middletown, Penndel, Parkland, William Penn, and day time staff in the Department of Fire & Emergency Management, led by Dynamix Consulting Group. This day of planning lead to the creation of the Strategic Plan that will outline a path toward improving the community’s fire services.

The mission of the Strategic Plan is, "The Middletown Township Fire Services are a unified system of highly trained volunteer fire companies supported by career firefighters who protect the lives and property of those who live, work, and pass through the community", which was developed by the Board of Supervisors, volunteer fire companies, the day time staff, and Township administration during the planning session. The Strategic Plan outlines four initiatives which are "Structure and Funding", "Department Head", "Volunteer Recruitment", "Staffing and Retention", and "Performance Measures".

The Strategic Plan further outlines these initiatives and breaks them down into more specific goals and objectives. The goals will help to address core problem areas within each initiative and build a foundation for future success of the volunteer fire companies and better position the day time staff to support their efforts while creating a more unified fire service. The scope of the plan is about 15 months.
