Holiday Trash Collection Changes & Township Office Schedule

Trash Collection Changes – New Year’s Day (Thursday, Jan. 1)
There will also be no trash collection on Thursday, January 1. Collection will be delayed by one day:

  • Thursday’s collection → Friday, Jan. 2
  • Friday’s collection → Saturday, Jan. 3
Township Holiday Office Schedule
Middletown Township offices will be closed on Thursday, January 1 for New Years Day and reopen on Friday, January 2 at 8:30 AM.

Christmas Tree Disposal
Christmas trees are picked up on residents’ collection day throughout the month of January.  Make sure all of the decorations and lights are removed.  Do not place trees in plastic bags.

Chickens and Bees at Residential Properties

In Middletown Township, chickens are not allowed on most properties.  Chapter 500 of the Middletown Township Code of Ordinances states that chickens (as well as bee boxes) are only permitted on properties larger than 10 acres in the Residence Agriculture zoning district, or zones RA-1, RA-2, and RA-3.

To report chickens or bee boxes in other zones of the Township, please contact Code Enforcement Officer Sandy Morgan.
