Trash Collection Changes – New Year’s Day (Thursday, Jan. 1)
There will also be no trash collection on Thursday, January 1. Collection will be delayed by one day:

  • Thursday’s collection → Friday, Jan. 2
  • Friday’s collection → Saturday, Jan. 3

Township Holiday Office Schedule
Middletown Township offices will be closed on Thursday, January 1 for New Years Day and reopen on Friday, January 2 at 8:30 AM.

Christmas Tree Disposal
Christmas trees are picked up on residents’ collection day throughout the month of January.  Make sure all of the decorations and lights are removed.  Do not place trees in plastic bags.

Now Hiring: Substitute School Crossing Guards

School crossing guards promote the safety of students walking to and from schools that serve grades K–8. They contribute to the success of Neshaminy School District students and are important to school communities.

Requirements and benefits

School crossing guards stop and direct traffic at assigned posts throughout the Neshaminy School District during school days. They work part-time from 7 to 9 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m., with adjustments for early dismissal days.

Background checks

Child Protective Services Law requires the following background checks before hiring crossing guards:

  • FBI criminal history background check

  • Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check

  • Pennsylvania child abuse background check

If hired, crossing guards must complete a physical examination and drug screening analysis prior to start date.

Benefits

Crossing guards currently receive an hourly wage of $19.08 in 2025. Crossing guards are supplied with all necessary equipment to perform their jobs safely.
