PECO has announced upcoming electric infrastructure improvement work in portions of Middletown Township beginning June 8, 2026. The project is part of PECO’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the electric system, modernize the electric grid, and help reduce outages during extreme weather events.
The project will include replacing underground transformers, installing new pad-mount transformers, and adding new underground electric cable in several neighborhoods throughout the Township. Work is expected to continue through October 1, 2026.
Construction activities will take place along Woodbourne Road, White Swan Way, Pine Glen Road, Katie Drive, Hanes Court, Joan Trail, Mill Pond Place, Clear Creek Road, Swift Road, and Hidden Spring Lane. Residents may see PECO crews and contractors working in these areas throughout the project.
PECO noted that temporary service interruptions may be necessary at times to safely complete portions of the work. Residents who may be directly impacted will be notified in advance.
