Middletown Township Appoints Christopher Hoffman as Next Township Manager

MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA— Middletown Township is pleased to announce the appointment of Christopher Hoffman as the Township’s next Township Manager. Hoffman will officially begin his role with the Township in August 2026.

Hoffman brings more than 15 years of municipal government experience and a strong background in local government administration, budgeting, operations, personnel management, and community engagement.

He currently serves as Township Manager for Lower Moreland Township in Montgomery County, a position he has held since 2013. During his tenure, Hoffman has overseen municipal operations across multiple departments, managed a multi-million-dollar operating budget, led personnel and labor relations efforts, coordinated land development projects, and worked closely with elected officials, department heads, consultants, and community stakeholders.

Prior to serving as Township Manager, Hoffman worked as Assistant Township Manager for Lower Moreland Township, where he helped oversee public communications, grant administration, service contracts, and zoning initiatives. He also serves as Project Coordinator for the Lower Moreland Township Authority, managing long-term infrastructure planning and utility-related initiatives.

“Chris brings extensive municipal experience, thoughtful leadership, and a deep understanding of local government operations,” said Bernadette Hannah, Chair of the Middletown Township Board of Supervisors. “The Board feels strongly that Chris will bring a collaborative, compassionate, and employee-focused approach to leadership while always keeping the best interests of our residents at the center of Township operations. We are confident in his ability to lead Middletown Township with professionalism, stability, and integrity.”

“We are excited to welcome Chris to Middletown Township and are confident his leadership and management style will be a tremendous asset to our organization,” said Dana Kane, Member of the Middletown Township Board of Supervisors. “Chris has accomplished great things during his time in Lower Moreland Township, and we look forward to seeing the experience, ideas, and best practices he brings to Middletown as we continue moving our community forward.”

Hoffman earned a Master of Public Administration degree with a Certificate in City Management from Villanova University and a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from Saint Joseph’s University. He is an active member of several professional municipal organizations, including the Association of Pennsylvania Municipal Managers (APMM) and the International City/County Management Association (ICMA). In addition, Hoffman serves on the Executive Committee of the Delaware Valley Workers’ Compensation Trust (DVWCT), helping guide regional collaboration and oversight on municipal risk management and employee safety initiatives.

“I am honored to join Middletown Township’s staff and Board of Supervisors in serving the Middletown community,” Hoffman said. “I will look back on my time in Lower Moreland with gratitude for the relationships we built and the trust we sustained together. At the same time, I am excited for the opportunity and challenge ahead in Middletown, where I know a strong foundation already exists.”
