Snow Emergency Alert

Middletown Township has declared a Snow Emergency effective Saturday, January 24 at 12:00 p.m. through Monday, January 26 at 12:00 p.m.

During the Snow Emergency, residents are reminded that vehicles must be removed from Township streets to allow snow plows and emergency vehicles to operate safely. Travel is strongly discouraged unless absolutely necessary.

Thank you for your cooperation as our crews work to keep Middletown Township safe and moving throughout the winter storm. Please continue to monitor Township communication channels for updates and stay safe.

JOB OPPORTUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT

 
Equipment Operator 1
 
All interested qualified regular full or part-time employees are encouraged to apply.  This position is within the Department of Public Works.
 
DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
 
This is an entry level position that provides assistance with the maintenance, construction, and repair of all Township roads, properties, and associated structures by performing technical and physical labor and operating basic machinery.
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required and at least one year of experience equivalent to or better than that gained as an Equipment Operator 1 with the Township.
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license and Class B Commercial Driver’s license issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with air brakes required.
  • Firefighter 1, IFSAC Certification, Haz Mat Operations Certification and three (3) years’ experience as SCBA qualified firefighter preferred.
 
PAY RANGE:
 
This position is included in The Independent Association of Middletown Township Department of Public Works with a starting pay of $34.19/hour.
